The Fresh Air Club was set up with the aim of inspiring young people to put down ipads and
phones, move away from screens and to get out into the outdoors to experience fun and
adventure, and to learn new skills.
Craig Summers was inspired to start The Fresh Air Club after he had spent six years as a Scout
Leader and bushcraft instructor and had seen the huge benefits that young people gain from
being in an outdoors environment. He and his wife Jo have two young sons aged 12 and 9 and
know first hand the temptation of screens and how important it is to get kids outdoors in the fresh
air, learning new skills, making new friends, experiencing new challenges and gaining confidence
away from ipads, phones, games consoles and screens.
The Fresh Air Club currently runs after school activities in a number of schools in and around
the New Forest and Bournemouth area, along with holiday clubs and birthday parties where we
teach bushcraft and survival skills with team building and adventurous games. All leaders
are fully trained and have valid DBS checks. A qualified first aider is in attendance at all
events and we are also fully insured.
